Meet Dr. Timothy Stewart

Dr. Timothy Stewart has been practicing dentistry since 2002. Born and raised on the south side of Richmond, he has deep roots in the community.  After attending Trinity Episcopal High School, he earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Richmond.  He then moved to Gainesville, Florida for SEC football and the College of Dentistry at the University of Florida.  After graduation, he returned to his home town. He is married to his college sweetheart, Laura, and they have two teenage daughters.  

Dr. Stewart has a strong interest in continuing education.  In 2008, he received certification to perform Invisalign dentistry, a non-invasive form of orthodontics particularly appealing to busy adults.  Dr. Stewart also has a special interest in fields linking oral health to a person’s overall good health. This area of concern led him to study dental sleep medicine and form a working relationship with a local physician who specializes in sleep apnea, among other sleep disorders.  

Dr. Stewart is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Virginia Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.  He enjoys volunteering as a dentist with CARITAS and the Mechanicsville Free Dental Clinic. He also volunteers in many capacities in his daughters’ activities and supports sports and student activities at Hermitage High School.  Dr. Stewart has been “thrown in jail” by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and has grown a mustache to raise money for several children’s charities (and to irritate his wife.) 

Dr. Stewart’s philosophy on dental care is simple: Treat every mouth as if it were his own.  He believes in quality treatment in a relaxed, enjoyable environment. It’s important to Dr. Stewart to schedule ample time for each appointment in order to get to know his patients medically and personally.  He wants to be your dental care provider for a long time to come.

Dr. Stewart became the sole owner of the practice in 2020 when Dr. McComb retired.  He is committed to continuing the high standards the practice has always maintained as well as staying current with up to date medical knowledge and practices, as well as continuing the relationships he values with his patients and staff.
